How exactly does your little girl decide that she loves all things girlie? We worked hard to raise her in a gender neutral room (green, with black and white photos as decoration), showed her all kinds of toys, read all kinds of books, dressed her in pants.........and yet, she loves everything princess - the dresses, the shoes, the hair accessories, the dolls, the princess barbies, her doll house, the Disney princess movies. Well, Ro had a princess day last week when she got her hair cut at Sharkey's. She not only got her hair cut in the vehicle of her choice (the pink jeep was in use so she settled for the red sports car), but also styled with accessories she got to keep AND they painted her nails. She's never had her nails painted before and she picked a bright pink nail polish. Oh well. I'm now learning the names of the Disney princesses too, and am trying to embrace my inner girl. It may be too late for me..... ;)
