It was an exciting week in the Smith household. We found out this week that we are having a little girl - definitely, no doubt, no questions. This was very exciting news and a total surprise to me! I, all along, have never had any sense of gender (unlike some moms), but Ben knew it was going to be a girl. Most of our friends who had any feeling either way thought we were having boy (except P Mo who has this uncanny knack for knowing your unborn baby's gender).

Since my last entry, we have decided to use cloth diapers. How could we not? They are better for the environment and better for our child. We have already purchased some second-hand all-in-ones (I love kijiji) and we're looking forward to all the upcoming adventures.

We've also been reading several books (The Happiest Baby on the Block, First-Time Mom, and I'm borrowing a copy of Babywise) and have received heaps of advice (some warranted, but most not). My body changing has mainly been taken in stride, though as of late, my stomach seems to be ballooning out of control ... I guess this happens when you are 20 weeks pregnant!

Soon this blog is going to turn into social activism mixed with baby pics!!
