There are many things that bring Ro joy - eating out at a restaurant, going to a party where they are serving cake, eating Marble Slab ice cream (well, actually, almost any ice cream), spending time with her daddy, having a playdate, going to the beach, going to her jazzy bugs class (where she does tap, ballet, and gymnastics), playing school, making her sister laugh, and swimming in hot tubs (to name a few).
Ro has also been looking forward to a day at Canada's Wonderland. Since last summer driving north on the 400, she has been looking forward to this summer when we told her we would go as a family. The big adventure happened on Friday. Both Ben and I agree that one of our highlights as parents is seeing the joy in our daughter - and there was TONS of joy on Friday.
The weather on Friday was sketchy at best. We dressed for the rain, and we weren't disappointed. There were 3 downpours, and we stayed dry thanks to umbrellas, rain coats, and building overhangs. Here is a picture of our stroller weighed down with our goods.
Ro went on all the rides in Planet Snoopy and Kidzville. She always loves a ride on a merry-go-round and she had her first experience on the bumper cars (which ended in tears her second time because everyone was yelling, "turn, turn!" and she didn't want to turn).
On the bumper cars with Silas
Violet had a great day (she is so flexible, she had numerous naps in her stroller and ate wherever I could find a bench). She had a huge poo blow-out. It was so smelly, she couldn't stand her own stink. :) Nothing like changing a VERY poopy diaper and outfit in a stroller!
Ro went on rides with Silas, Hadley, Tabea, her Dad, Auntie Sandy, Bobbi, Matt, and myself. Here she is enjoying a roller coaster with Auntie Sandy. I got the privilege of taking her on the Ghoster Coaster. Her trepidation went out the window on the last curve when she raised her arms and yelled, "Woo hoo!!!"
There is always time for a little huggle with Dad.
A ride with a new friend.
I'm so thankful we got to experience Wonderland as a family. I love my family, I love spending time together, I love experiencing new things with my kids, I love being able to share joy, I love seeing Ro's eyes light up, I love hearing her squeals of delight, I love hearing her laughter.
This mama's heart is still full of delight.
Tam
