...I couldn't figure out what to say. I still am not sure what to share. This week has been marked with tragedy, sorrow, and loss. It has left many heartbroken, devastated, and with feelings of guilt. A wife is now a single parent. Two lovely girls lost their Dad. Two parents lost their only child. Huge. In ways, unimaginable for me. God is in this.
But this week has also been marked by love, community, and friendship. Brothers and sisters coming together to meet practical needs, to shower friends with love, to be there for each other. God is in this.
We all have different views of God. Here is what I have learned. God is love. He loves each one of us, even if we don't know Him or love Him. We live in a fallen world, far from what God originally planned. In this fallen state, crap happens - indiscriminately. Bad things happen to good people. But through this, you can still see glimpses of God's love for us - the sunset, the mechanics of trees, a parent's kiss, a gentle touch, a baby's smile. He wants us to experience His love and share it with all.
So when I say "God is in this", I simply mean He is present, laughing with us, crying with us, supporting us, sustaining us, encouraging us, motivating us, stretching us, and LOVING us.
Loved and loving,
Tam and Ben
