Our Kitchen - Ta Da!

This picture is taken facing south-west. We have a corner fireplace, that now has a cabinet on top! Super storage! :)

This is the wall facing east, our shared wall (we're in a semi. The door in this picture is the door to our backyard and detached garage). This is where our fridge was before, but I now have 4 lowers, a bank of 4 drawers, 2 large uppers, 1 half-size upper, and uppers above the fridge and micro. What you can't see in this picture is the pull-out pantry beside the fridge - it's amazing. We love the fact that the cupboards are deeper than normal cupboards (they fit chargers!!). We also love the fact that our countertop and backsplash are from the same piece of Labrador Antique granite.

This is facing the north-west. We didn't have anything on this wall before. We know have a super spacious pantry with 20 pull-out drawers, 1 super deep upper, and a standard upper above our desk. This is a new maple island, shorter, but wider, and on one level. Ah, the counter space.....

Well, the kitchen reno is officially done! Well, almost. We have a drawer front that is being replaced, but other than that, everything is fully usable - yay!! :)

Silly us - we didn't take any before pictures, so all you are going to see are the after photos. Trust me in believing that the before and after are VERY different! We used to have a coat closet by our back door, no pantries or desk on the north-facing wall, and no cabinet above our fireplace. Our "before" kitchen had 2 uppers, plus an upper above our fridge and stove, and 2 lower cabinets. You can imagine how little was actually in our kitchen. Now, absolutely EVERYTHING fits upstairs, in our kitchen!!!

The best part of all is that we have gained some new friends through this endeavour. The co-owner of the cabinet company became Ro's new best friend ("Berto"). He has a daughter that is 10 days younger than Ro. We intend on having some yummy BBQs this summer with this AMAZING family! Mogano Cabinets did an absolutely steller job planning, building, implementing, answering our questions, taking care of all the details, and installing our kitchen. All in all, this has been a great experience - I wouldn't want to choose to live without a stove, sink in my kitchen, or work area again, but it has definitely been worth it!
